Value: The visible lightness or darkness of a color. Even in black and white art pieces you can still see value.
A pro to pen drawing is that you can really see how bold each mark is which is helpful when shading. A con is that its hard to erase so if you make a mistake its hard to fix. Charcoal: A pro to charcoal is that it looks really cool when shading. The eraser helps you get that light grey which helps show depth in the drawing. A con to charcoal is that it is pretty messy and gets on your arms and hands. Pencil: The pencil drawing was probably my favorite. Even though pencils are grey, they have many different shades which helped me shade. It was easy to just look at the marking on the side of the pencil and see if its light or dark. A con was that pencil is also kind of messy which can be annoying to remove off of your hands.

Zim and Zou are a duo from Nancy, France. The duo consists of Lucie Thomas who was born in the Vosges in 1987, and Thibault Zimmermann who was born in Paris in 1986. They studied graphic design in college for three years. Focused on craftsmanship they make all their art using their hands. They love to use paper to create their projects because they say it inspires versatility. This art inspires me because it looks very cartoonish but at the same time realistic. They use colors to and 3D paper to make this. It draws you in with the colors that complement each other. They use detail on almost anything they make which adds the realistic piece to their art.
